China-First Dry Powder Fire Truck for High-Altitude Cold Regions Rolls Off the Line in Suizhou
Firefighting above 3,000 metres is a different engineering problem: less oxygen for combustion, brutal cold for pumps, seals and batteries, and airfields often hundreds of kilometres from the nearest service depot. This week a Suizhou-built answer to that problem was unveiled.

Purpose-Built for Thin Air and Extreme Cold
On 19 December, the first Chinese 8 cubic-metre high-altitude cold-region dry powder fire truck — developed by Zhengding Special Vehicle, a CLW Group enterprise, together with Hunan Ancha Chemical — was officially unveiled in Suizhou, Hubei. The appliance is engineered around two hostile variables: altitude, which starves engines and pump systems of oxygen, and deep cold, which attacks every seal, valve and powder-flow path on the vehicle.
The 8 m³ dry-powder system targets exactly the sites where water-based suppression is impractical or unavailable — plateau airfields, mining and mineral-processing plants, energy depots, chemical stores and high-altitude municipal brigades — and it carries its extinguishing agent where hydrants do not exist.
Why International Buyers Should Care
High-altitude and cold-climate capability is a transferable asset: the same engineering that protects a tanker’s powder system at −30 °C applies to Andean mining sites, Central Asian steppe winters, East African highlands and the Tibetan plateau corridor. CLW exports fire trucks to more than 60 countries, with the full line built under China’s MIIT fire-vehicle production licensing.
The unveiling joins CLW’s expanding fire line — from light tenders to foam and water tankers. The same Isuzu fire series that served Malaysia — water tender variant.
