How to Order a Custom Special Vehicle: The CLW Buying Process
Support
One e-mail is enough to start. This page walks through exactly how CLW takes an overseas buyer from a duty description to a special vehicle delivered at your port — typically 25–45 days from order to on-board.
The ordering process at a glance
01 · Choose the vehicle and configuration
What you provide: destination country or port, vehicle class, payload or tank volume, and a plain description of the work — road sweeping in a historic city centre, water supply on unpaved haul roads, refuse collection for a municipality of 500,000. Tell us anything special you need: right-hand drive, tipper body in Hardox, a specific tyre brand, a colour code.
What we provide: a match from the 840+ models in the CLW national announcement catalog, or a custom body engineered around your duty; the choice of proven chassis — Dongfeng, SINOTRUK HOWO / SITRAK, Foton, ISUZU, SHACMAN — and honest advice on what each costs you in shipping. Configuration sheets and shipping options are confirmed together, line by line, before any order.
02 · Place the order and arrange payment
Two payment routes for global buyers:
T/T (telegraphic transfer) — 30% deposit to open the production slot, 70% balance before shipment, once you have approved the finished vehicle on photos and video.
100% irrevocable L/C at sight — send us your bank’s draft first; we review the terms together before official issuance so amendment fees and delays never enter the contract.
03 · Production and inspection
Standard build runs 15–25 working days, governed mainly by chassis availability. Every unit completes a full functional test before the balance is due: pump pressure, unloading cycles, crane reach, vacuum performance — whichever systems the body carries. Third-party inspections (SGS, BV or your own agent) are welcome at the factory in Suizhou, Hubei. Before shipment you receive high-definition photos and a video walkthrough of your actual vehicle, not a catalogue sample, for final approval.
04 · Shipping and delivery
We arrange CIF or freight to your named port under the method that suits the vehicle — Ro-Ro, container, bulk or cross-border road — and you are free to appoint your own forwarder. See the companion guide “Shipping & Delivery” for the method comparison and the pre-shipment checks we run.
05 · Customs clearance and documentation
A complete export dossier accompanies every shipment:
Commercial Invoice (CI) and Packing List (PL)
Bill of Lading (B/L) or international rail waybill for land routes
Certificate of Origin (CO); Form E for ASEAN destinations where applicable
Vehicle conformity papers, and country-specific certificates on request (we have prepared ADR-linked paperwork for EU-facing bodies and SONCAP / PVOC-style pre-shipment certificates for African ports)
Quick answers
What is the minimum order?
One unit. Most buyers start with a single evaluation truck, then fleet up once it performs on their roads.
Can you build to our country’s rules?
Yes — steering side, overall dimensions and axle loads to your road limits, emission level from Euro 2 to Euro 6 depending on chassis, and body standards to your specification. Tell us the target market and we will flag the constraints you may not know about.
What warranty do I get?
12 months or 30,000 km on the CLW-built upper body and hydraulics, on top of the chassis manufacturer’s warranty passed through in full. Lifetime genuine-parts supply, remote diagnosis by video, and commissioning guidance for your drivers and workshop crew.
Can I visit the factory?
Suizhou is a two-hour drive from Wuhan. We arrange airport pickup, plant tours and line-side demonstrations of the exact models you are evaluating; buyers who cannot travel get the same walkthrough on live video.
