A Ten-Unit Car Carrier Order for Ghana
The batch was ordered as ten identical car carriers, and the photographs show them completed and parked in rows: white Dongfeng cabs, blue carrier bodies, the same ramp layout and the same upper-deck structure on every unit. For a vehicle-logistics operator that repetition is the whole point - ten units that load, tie down and unload in exactly the same way.
The chassis is the Dongfeng 6x4, with two steering axles at the front and a tandem at the rear, and the carrier body built directly onto the frame rather than towed as a trailer. The cab is the white day cab used on this model, with the Dongfeng grille badge centred between the headlamps.
Four units lined up with their rear ramps folded, red-and-yellow chevron marker boards closing the lower deck and yellow posts carrying the rope rails.
Hydraulic Upper Deck and Loading Ramps
The carrier body has two loading levels. The upper deck is supported on blue columns and raised by red hydraulic cylinders mounted between the decks, with latch plates that lock the deck at its working height. Yellow posts stand along the top rail, carrying black safety ropes that stop a vehicle door or mirror catching on the structure.
Loading is by folding ramps, not by a crane or a fixed bank. The ramps fold down to the ground for driving vehicles on, then fold back and stow along the lower deck for transport, with the slip plates standing upright at the rear. Each deck is built from perforated steel plate so that rain drains and lashings can be clipped anywhere along the run.
Rear ends of identical units standing side by side, each with its ramps folded onto the deck and the top rail posts raised.
Chassis Detail and Handover to Ghana
Under the deck the chassis carries the working equipment of a long-haul unit: a aluminium fuel tank behind the side skirt, air receivers for the brake system, and a lockable toolbox built into the skirt so that straps, wheel chocks and tools travel with the truck. Red-and-yellow chevron marker boards close off the rear, and the rear ramps form the loading edge.
The photographs record the finished batch, not one demonstrator: rows of carriers on the apron, a rear view of the line at the workshop and close views of the deck gear. Shipment was arranged to Ghana, and each unit leaves the works with its hydraulic and ramp documentation. A repeat order is quoted once the deck configuration and the number of vehicles to be carried are confirmed.
