Tank and Water System

▶ The tank is an elliptical carbon steel shell with anti-corrosion coating, a top manhole for filling and inspection, and internal baffles that reduce water surge when the truck brakes or turns. The rear ladder and platform give safe access to the manhole and cannon. A low-level drain valve empties the tank for maintenance or frost protection.

A PTO-driven centrifugal pump draws water through a suction hose or from a hydrant and pressurises the spray circuit. Flow is about 40-60 m³/h, enough for simultaneous cannon and side spraying. The pump compartment is behind the cab, with the main valves grouped at the rear for operation from the platform.

Spraying Equipment

▶ The rear water cannon rotates 360 degrees and elevates for a throw of 25-35 metres, depending on pump pressure and wind. It is aimed manually with a handle and locking lever. Two side spray nozzles wash the carriageway edges, while a front flush bar clears mud and debris ahead of the front axle.

Two valved rear outlets accept hoses for hand washing, filling street-cleaning machines or supplying emergency water tanks. Nozzle size can be changed to trade flow for pressure. For dust suppression, the cannon can be set to a fine mist; for street washing, a concentrated jet is used.

Chassis and Cab

▶ The Foton Aumark E60 chassis is a light-medium 4x2 platform with a turbocharged diesel engine, a five- or six-speed manual gearbox and a leaf-spring suspension. Hydraulic power steering and a tight turning circle make the truck manageable in residential streets and site entrances.

The cab seats three in a single row, with a car-style dashboard, adjustable steering column and optional air conditioning. The steel bumper and halogen headlights are easy to repair in export markets. A spare wheel, tool kit and warning triangle are supplied as standard.

Municipal and Site Applications

▶ Typical duties include watering roadside trees and central reservations, washing kerbs and pedestrian areas, damping gravel and demolition dust, and carrying water to sites without a mains supply. The 8,000 L tank gives a working range of several hours between refills.

Options include a stainless or food-grade tank for potable use, an insulated tank for hot climates, a high-pressure washer, a fog cannon, additional rear spray bars and a flashing beacon. Left-hand drive is standard, right-hand drive can be ordered, and export packing, documents and a spare-parts kit are arranged for each shipment.
