The bitumen tank holds 6 m3 in carbon steel with 50 mm rock-wool insulation and stainless cladding, heated by a diesel-fired thermal oil boiler through a serpentine circuit that holds the binder at 120-180 C without scorching. Application duty falls to a gear or hydraulic pump with stepless 0-5 L/m2 delivery tied to ground speed and read on a flow meter; rear dual spray bars widen from 2.5 m to 6 m with automatic per-header nozzle shut-off. A stirrer and recirculation loop prevent segregation between fill points; top-filling uses a strainer manhole or the side pump-in line, and the onboard diesel compressor purges nozzles and supplies atomizing air. Infrared heating, GPS dosing maps or a second header are optional fleet extras.
