The Dongfeng Captain E 4x2 potable water tanker is a light, manoeuvrable delivery vehicle for drinking water, food-grade liquids and clean site supply. Its cylindrical 304 stainless steel tank is polished inside and out, fitted with three top manholes, dished ends and a full-length side discharge line with manual valves. Two aluminium side boxes carry hoses, fittings and sampling tools, while a rear ladder gives safe access to the tank top. The truck uses a 110-130 kW diesel engine, a six-speed manual gearbox and a 7,000-9,000 kg gross weight, so it fits urban streets, rural roads and plant access without a heavy-truck licence. Tank volume is quoted at 4,000-6,000 L and is confirmed against the final wheelbase. Left-hand drive is standard, right-hand drive, a self-priming pump, a flow meter and tank insulation are optional. Each unit ships with export documents and a 20-35 day lead time.

▶ The tank is made from 304 stainless steel, a grade chosen for potable water because it resists corrosion, does not impart taste or odour and can be washed with food-safe disinfectants. The barrel is rolled and welded, then polished to remove weld discolouration and sharp edges that could trap sediment. Dished ends give the tank strength without internal baffles that are hard to clean.
Three top manholes provide full access for inspection, scrubbing and air circulation. The outlet line runs along the lower side of the tank with manual valves, so one operator can fill, recirculate or discharge without climbing onto the barrel. A rear ladder and anti-slip walkway make top access safe in wet conditions.

▶ The side discharge pipe is protected by the tank cradle and ends in a hose connection with a quick-acting valve. A second connection can be specified for a pump or a flow meter. Two aluminium toolboxes, one on each side, keep hoses, clamps, a sampling bottle and a valve key dry and secure; both lock with stainless hinges.
For delivery work the tank can be ordered with internal baffles, a self-priming pump, a mechanical or digital flow meter and a rear cabinet for a hose reel. The standard configuration is gravity/side discharge, which has fewer parts to maintain and is preferred where water is delivered by hose to household tanks or site storage.

▶ The Captain E cab is a compact, forward-control design with a low step, large mirrors and a dashboard laid out for frequent stop-start work. The 110-130 kW diesel engine drives through a six-speed manual gearbox. With a 7,000-9,000 kg gross weight and a 3,300-3,800 mm wheelbase, the truck is narrow enough for residential lanes yet stable with a full tank.
Hydraulic power steering, air-over-hydraulic brakes and 7.50R16 tyres are matched to the load. The chassis frame carries the tank on rubber-isolated U-bolts, reducing stress at the tank saddles. A 120 L fuel tank gives a practical working range for daily municipal or commercial rounds.

One unit is the minimum order, and mixed configurations can be shipped in the same container or on the same ro-ro vessel.

Is the tank suitable for drinking water?
Yes. The tank is built from 304 food-grade stainless steel, welded and polished, with sealed manholes and a drainable outlet. A material certificate and a cleaning procedure are supplied so the operator can maintain potable-water hygiene.
Can I choose a different tank volume?
Yes. The standard range is 4,000-6,000 L. The final volume is set against the wheelbase, axle load and required payload, and is confirmed on the approved drawing before production.
Do you offer right-hand drive and a pump?
Right-hand drive, a self-priming pump, a flow meter, internal baffles and tank insulation are available as options. Send the discharge height, hose length and daily volume so the pump and pipe size can be matched.
