The SHACMAN L3000 4x2 skip loader pairs a 210 hp chassis with a 10 m³ open-top skip container that the truck drops at the collection point and collects when full. A twin-cylinder swing arm lifts the loaded container onto the subframe in about 3 minutes, and the same arm sets it down empty at the next stop.
Because the container stays on site, one truck serves several points without waiting to be filled, which cuts idle time and keeps waste off the kerb. The L3000 day cab, 4x2 driveline and a GVW of 18,000 kg are sized for municipal streets and compound access, while rear stabilizer legs, side guards and mechanical plus hydraulic container locks are fitted for daily loading cycles.
Tell us your container count, collection points and waste type, and we confirm the skip build and hydraulic set-up before quoting.

▶ A skip loader works differently from a compactor: the container does the waiting, not the truck. An empty 10 m³ skip is set down at a housing estate, a site gate or a market, and the truck moves on to the next point. When a container is full, the driver returns, hooks the chains, and the swing arm lifts it onto the subframe; the loaded skip is then swapped for an empty one on the same visit.
The lift is hydraulic and deliberate. Twin cylinders, one along each side of the frame, push the arm through its arc, and the chains keep the container level as it rises. The rear stabilizer legs take the load off the springs during the lift, so the chassis stays planted on uneven ground. A mechanical lock plus a hydraulic lock hold the container on the subframe, and the operator works the valve bank behind the cab where the arm and container remain in view.

The chassis is the SHACMAN L3000 4x2 with a 210 hp badge, a day cab and an 18,000 kg gross weight rating. That is enough for a 10 m³ steel skip plus the arm and subframe, while keeping the truck narrow enough for compound roads and municipal alleys. Side guards, mud flaps, a rear ladder and marker lights in protected housings are part of the road equipment. Container count, waste density, collection radius and unloading point are the four numbers that decide how many skips to order with the truck.

Watch the SHACMAN L3000 skip loader lift and set down a 10 m³ container.
How long does a container swap take?
About three minutes for a trained operator: position the truck, hook the chains, lift the loaded skip, set it down and pick up the empty one. Ground conditions and traffic at the point affect the real cycle more than the hydraulics do.
Can the truck carry more than one container?
It carries one container on the subframe at a time, but you can order several 10 m³ skips with the truck. The spare containers stay at the collection points, which is what removes the waiting time.
Is the container open or sealed?
The standard skip on this build is an open-top steel container for bulky household, commercial and construction waste. Sealed or lidded containers for wet or odorous waste are available as an option; tell us the waste type before the container is built.

✔ Twin-cylinder swing arm
One hydraulic cylinder on each side of the frame lifts the loaded skip smoothly onto the subframe.
✔ 10 m³ detachable container
The open-top steel skip stays at the collection point; one truck can serve several containers.
✔ Mechanical and hydraulic locks
Two independent locks hold the container on the subframe during transport and unloading.
✔ Rear stabilizer legs
A-frame legs with ground pads keep the chassis planted while the arm lifts a full container.
